BAFTA /The Orange British Academy Film Awards/ smatra se zajedno sa  Zlatnim Globusom/ Golden Globes/, Nagradom udruženje američkih režisera, DGA/Directors Guild of America Awards/, Nagradom udruženje američkih pisaca,WGA/ Writers Guild of America Awards/, Nagradom udruženja američkih glumaca,  SAG/ Screen Actors Guild Awards/ i Nagradom za nezavisne filmove, ISA/ Independent Spirit Awards/, uticajnom prethodnicom za nagradu Oscar. Zovu je i britanski Oscar.

Ilustratora Adama Simpsona angažovala je BAFTA da im osmisli brošuru, poster i ulaznice. Adam je ilustrovao i filmove, potencijalne  dobitnike Oscara za 2011. Njegove ilustracije, pogotovu trodimenzionalne perspektive, podsećaju na litografije M. C. Eschera.
